Leopard on ice
Here in the Lemaire Channel there are plenty of leopard seals to go around (see the November 2006 issue of National Geographic for more.) Whether yawning on an ice floe, or simply floating past, these animals are so unique in the seal world. They are almost serpentine in their body shape, and their head shape is huge and triangular...almost more like a dinosaur than a seal. And MY, what BIG teeth they have!
