Islands of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge

In March and into April of 2007 I sailed aboard the National Geographic Endeavour from Ushuaia, Argentina at the tip of South America all the way to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa. Our route followed the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and took us to some of the most remote islands in the world. We went from Antarctic waters past the Tropic of Capricorn, over the Equator, and north past the Tropic of Cancer into temperate waters again. In total we covered almost 85 degrees of lattitude and more than 8,200 nautical miles, more than 30% the distance around the planet! Here are some of the highlight images from this expedition, I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did making them.
